PF CHANGS

On January 17th Brynn ran the PF Changs half marathon! What a champ! We hopped on our bikes and rode to different points in the race to cheer her on!! She did great!

When in Rome

Roommate Kara Palmer got us free tickets to go to he premier of the film When in Rome. It was delicious! Premiers are so fun because everyone is WAY more into the movie. Their is clapping and cheering going on, extra applause and great energy. Its the same with midnight showings.

The movie was really clean and I don't remember hearing any swearing. All the characters were easy to laugh at. It was the typical romantic comedy with the phrases of "why doesn't she just say something" "oh he is so perfect" "Oh, she is going to screw everything up"

The leading actress was really refreshing and had the cutest style!

The leading actor, although a pig in real life did a great job and was a charming role.

Suns Game

Tuesday night I got to go on a date to the Suns game. Lets forget it was a date and just talk about the game shall we? You bet the Suns were ahead the ENTIRE time and then ended up loosing in overtime. DRATS! They did this the night before against the Jazz. Now I know my Grandma and Grandpa Jensen were VERY excited about that, but I wasn't.

Now, for all of those who know me, YOU KNOW I DON'T DO SPORTS. I don't like to watch sports on TV. Get me to a game, in person, and its another story. I quite enjoy it. Get me to enough games and I might get addicted enough to watch games with you on TV.

Bad storms

Remember all the bad storms that we had?!?! The entire valley was flooded and it rained for 2 days straight. The homeland got more than a foot of snow with surrounding areas getting up to 4 feet! It was VERY fun. I am glad I got the rain and not the snow. :) I came out to my truck one morning and this is what I found. I tree blown over and the branches were TOUCHING my car! It could have been much much worse if it was just a few feet over. I am blessed.

Line upon Line

I wish I was better with words. I would love to pour out all my feelings about how blessed I feel but no words that I come up with seem to be adequate. I have an amazing family. Wonderful friends. I attend the best singles ward. I have fantastic roommates. My life is a blessing. I hope everyone I know and love feel this same Joy and Happiness.

Is it really?

Okay with my job I come in contact with MANY people. Not so much person to person contact but over the phone contact. In my experience I have heard so many mothers tell me that their kids are ADD or Attention Deficit Disorder. Now I have also been around a lot of kids through my life. KIDS ARE JUST CRAZY. It makes me wonder is it ADD or just bad parenting? Kids like to run around and scream and jump and annoy you. They like to do this even more if they haven't seen you ALL DAY. So my answer would be to spend time with your kids. Show them you care. Help them learn. Don't just shove drugs and sleeping pills down their throats! This won't solve anything. I can only see it contributing to being dependent on pills for the rest of their life! It makes me so sad. I don't see why a 6 year old should have to be on sleeping pills!!!!! What little kid likes to go to sleep at 7 o'clock.

Okay, rant and rave over with. :)

Most depressed day of the year.

I was reading Here this morning and the last paragraph made me realize, OH GOOD, ITS NOT JUST ME!!!



“Because January 18th is supposed to be the most depressed day of the year. You’re stuck in the middle of winter with no Christmas decorations, a whack of broken New Year’s resolutions and no spring in sight.”



It was good to read this! It tells me to suck it up and get back on the wagon. To move on with life because even though there is no spring in sight, it is the next best thing around the corner. I have been feeling overwhelmed lately. I have been stressed about buying my house, worried that I have put on some of the lbs tht I worked so hard to lose, anxious that I am NEVER going to find a teammate in this game of life. BLAH. My friend Julie and I (I love her to pieces) have started playing a little game. Its called I AM NOT MARRIED BUT AT LEAST.... Then we name little things that we realized like, I am not married but at least I am not divorced at my age. I am not married but at least I am not divorced TWICE at my age. I am not married but at least I am not stuck with a bum.... You get the idea. It helps... a little.

This is my day to turn the cup back into being half full.

WE HAVE A NEW MEMBER OF THE HAWS FAMILY. Tyson and Kim had their baby. I am sure you can read all about it on their blog when kim is back on her feet. The morning he was being birthed I listened to this song because I like it. I think its a DIFFERENT take on babies, from the baby end. :)

2010

Okay so I have been thinking about this New Year. At first I didn't set any goals for the new year. Probably the first year I haven't done so. Growing up we would always get together as a family, and any friends that were at our house, on new years eve and write down some resolutions and share them with everyone. This experience has taught me to always set resolutions but I feel New Years resolutions have such an awful connotation to them. WE NEVER KEEP THEM... Never say never...WE ALMOST ALWAYS GIVE UP. So I didn't want to have resolutions. I decided to create more of a mission statement/theme thingy....

I am a loving person that treats people with more love. I have the courage to befriend strangers. I have the power to watch less and study more. Doing so will allow me to live better.

OMG IT WAS FANTASTIC. I saw it twice last weekend! Such a beautiful movie that had me crying at times. I don't care that it was 2 hours and 40 minutes long. It was time well spent. It was fun to let your imagination run wild. After the movie I was sad that I wouldn't be alive in 2154 if it was going to be like that. I would go to Pandora for sure. I don't agree with war or the fact that humans think they can take whatever they want no matter what the consequence. Negotiate and if that doesn't work, TOUGH. You can't take anything you want with a gun and hand gernade.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Lets start out with New Years Eve shall we? The day starts out with me waking at 5 like all other days and going to work. Julie was my date for the night. We started out going to wal greens to get our supplies. Glasses, hats, energy drinks. First stop of the night was to hit up Polar Ice Skating Rink. They had a big party going on and we saw lots of our friends from the Eden Park ward. PLUS a bunch of high schoolers. ummm, lets leave this party shall we?

We headed out to Gameworks which was more our scene. We ran into friends Josh, Matt, Zach and Travis.

We played games all night, our favorite was basketball. I won, TWICE.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Throughout the night my skin color was getting worse and worse. Maybe it was the no sleep, or the 2 energy drinks I consumed. I was wasted tired. After gameworks we went to a pancake breakfast then over to the boys house to hang out till 5 am. A full 24 hours later I was climbing into bed eagar to wake up the next morning and embrace the day. I had big plans!!



NEW YEARS DAY

What does 10 am bring??? A hike up South Mountain with Tori and Julie!!

The day was fantastic! The weather was 70 degrees. It couldn't have been more perfect.

At the top of the trail was a weird rock pyramid. This is me trying to get a picture with it.

After hiking we went home and napped before we went out to first friday.

We met up with Trisha and Brynn and some of our friends from their circle. Julie and Jakeb had never been to the first friday action before. Julie loved it but Jakeb was too tired to really enjoy anything.

After first friday I really wanted to show everyone a restaurant in Phoenix called FEZ but it was closed for New Years. Dumbdotcom!! So we went to Macayos instead and then off to 2010.

Zach, Travis, and Josh were working the 2010 party so we hit it up since we could get in for free. You won't find me paying to get into a dance party. Lame sauce. not my thing. We had a good time though and that was that for the new year. it was a loooonnnng day. A great way to start the new year.
