I have had a tradition for the past 3 or 4 years to hike on New Years day. I think this may be the first tradition that I have started on my own that isn't a continuation from what my parents have taught me.
I like that I have my own.
This year I went to South Mountain. That's where I went last year but this was a different hike. I went with Sarah Buckley, Tori Wadsworth, and Kristen Hauck. It was a beautiful day!

After we tried to go to one of my favorite Mexican restaurants, Carolinas. They were closed *LAME* . so we tried going to LOLO'S for chicken and waffles. There was a line OUT THE DOOR and we were starved so we moved on to the next destination... LA TOLTECA. OMG it was amazing. I guess Tori used to go here when she was going to Dental Hygenist school in Phoenix. It was a lot like the Ranch Market, but more of a restaurant. They had a bakery in there as well.
New Years is the perfect day to try new things and go out on a limb. So I got the Cubana Torta. It was to die for.
There was some egg in there. Pork. Guacamole lettuce. Ham. I don't even know what else. but it was pretty darn amazing. I would recommend this place to anyone!
Here's to a year of more hiking!!
