Where is Mern..

I have been pretty busy, but haven't realized how much fun I have been having! It's good to take pictures so that you remember what you have done and that you haven't been working AS MUCH as you thought you have.

So with out further adeau and in no particular order........

This is my new roommate! her name is Julie. She is WAY fun and Random and just as cute as can be! She is an AMAZING cook and musician. So much fun to have around! She just got a bike so she will be able to join us on our bike rides.

Mom, Dad, and Dallin were in town. So I took them to The Ranch Market for some REAL tacos. :0) Lindsey met up with us. These were yummmmmmm.

Friday Night I took them to First Friday. If you know me you know I WUV first friday. Dallin always thought I was a NErD for going but he now knows hot STUPENDOUS it is. He will NEeever make fun of me again.

Roomate Julie was in town and she met up with us for a bit! What a stellar friend she is!! Did you know she loves kettlecorn? That means she can be trusted.

We went to watch the midnight showing of Alice in Wonderland wearing ONLY or pajamas. Scandelous I know!! :) It was a great show! Zach wasn't so impressed but I liked all the imagination.

On night Tori, Tyler, and I went up to the look out on top of South Mountain. Why don't we come up here more? Its BEAUTIFUL. Why didn't I bring Washington up here?? LAME, MERN, LAME. Did you know there is a cool little fort at the top? You should check it out.

I had a FIESTA at my house! I swear I better marry a Mexican. Scott brought my cousin Annessa! What a great surprise. They also brought canned bread? GROSS. It looks like...Well I don't need to tell you what it looks like.

We had a Pinata and then demonstrated all the ways you could re-use it.

We went to watch Mary Poppins at Gammage. We didn't even need a spoon full of sugar to make it go down better! It was practically perfect!

Other things that I don't have pictures of.... Tyson and Kim blessed their baby in church! That was fun and then they made an amazing Italian meal at their house. It has rained a lot and we have enjoyed that! The air is so fresh and so clean, clean.

I am blessed, Jesus loves me. The end. :)

Happy Monday

It's been a bit since I updated!! PHEW. Life can get so busy and its hard to decide which things to let slip out of the picture. I guess we need to practice moderation in all things, except Chocolate. Can I get an AMEN?

With work I have been trying to fit all my 40 hours into M-T so that I can have friday completely off and all to myself! It worked out GREAT last week so hopefully I can do it again this week. THIS WEEKEND IS SPECIAL. Some friends and I are heading up to the homeland to hit the ski slopes again. Remember how I went a few weeks ago and I DIDN'T die? Well to celebrate we are going back. We are all VERY excited and the friends love to visit the homeland.

I had a date this weekend. The silly man made the BIGGEST mistake. He took me out to a NICE dinner and we had a nice time! We had plans to go play some pool afterwards but he tells me he is tired and would like to go watch a movie. PERFECT, I love movies. We are in line at the movies and he asks "would you mind getting this?" I was COMPLETLY taken off guard. I stammared yes and walked up and bought BOTH of our tickets. I handed him his ticket and he says he likes to trade off paying for things. I was Flabbergasted!!

BOYS, FOR THE RECORD... It's okay to split the financial burden of dating, AFTER THE FIRST SERIES OF DATES. Mom's, PLEASE call your single dating boys and remind them of this. It's not about the money because with him being a student its guaranteed that I make more than him. It's about respect. It's about responsiblity. It's about you showing you have it together enough to provide for your girl. Don't take a girl to a $20 a plate restaurant and then ask her to pay for the movie.

If he would of asked if I could pay in the car I would have kindly suggested that I was tired and that he should just take me home. At that point there would be no point in wasting our time. Poor guy, I hope someone gives him a clue.

Texting sucks

Okay. So names have been changed to protect the NOT SO INNOCENT!!! There is this boy that I happen to like. Whenever I get around him I act all goofy and don't talk much and I feel like a basket case. Not because I am scared of what he will think of me, I just don't know what to do. I am immobile. I try to think of something to say to him and NOTHING comes out. This is unusual for me. I can usual keep it together. So I KNOW he must thing of me as some weirdo that takes a couch camping and doesn't talk much. See how little he knows??

So this boy texts me... I was excited...Till I read it.....

BOY: Random question for ya, does your roommate **** like sports? Is she dating anyone?
(Pause)
Okay, Why is he asking about my roommate? I HATE WHEN PEOPLE USE ME TO GET TO MY ROOMMATES. If there is anything that can make me feel worthless and not pretty or worth anything it is this. Plus I liked him so that HURRRRT. Roommate and I think, well if he is going to be rude and ask about your roommate, LETS ASK ABOUT HIS!! We thought it would be cheecky.

Me: She doesn't really date, But you can try. While we are on the topic of roommates, is your roommate Brian single?
(Pause) Funny right? we will show him.

BOY: Yes, I was actually asking for him.
(Pause) oh crap. I THINK that just backfired, like really really bad. He wasn't asking out my roommate and now he thinks I LIKE his roommate... If I have the slightest chance of impressing him I JUST lost it.

Me: Gee, I really have no idea where this is going.
(Pause) Speechless.

BOY: Can I have Tori's number?

Me: Yeah But she only likes friend dates, so keep it casual
(pause) I thought I would give him a friendly tip to help him out. Could this redeem myself? Just a little? Kill em with kindness?

BOY: He plans on it, Thanks

(pause) and THATS why I had a love it size waffle cone at coldstone for lunch. You know what... It actually made me feel better. Let him think I like his roommte, I don't care. Maybe I do like his roommate just a little bit more than I like him.....

How we do the weekends

We started out by kidnapping Jaceb. He looks all upset but he is only pretending. He LOVED it.

We didn't have plans. We just wanted to be outside. Why do people live in arizona and not take advantage of the fact that we have NO SNOW. Did you hear me people... THERE IS NO SNOW OUTSIDE. You can be outside and not freeze. You can go have fun and get air and expand your horizons. You can give your couches and computers a break and be FREEEEEEE.
You can ride behind the paperboy as he delivers his nightly papers!

You can get fresh outside with a policeman! hubba hubba!

You can blend in with the wild and be fed fresh fish from a momma bear.

You can squash little school children as they are doing their arithmatic homework.

YOU CAN RIDE A WILD HOG DOWN THE STREETS OF MESA!

These are my roommates Juli Ann and Tori! We have lots of fun and many adventures together! I love having roommates and getting to know different traditions and ideas. This is the BEST marriage training!

Ever heard of Jefferson park? Its on Broadway and Power. The legend is there was a girl murdered here and between 11:15 and midnight she can be seen wandering between the trees. Well people, its a HOAX! There was no little girl. There was no screaming and moaning.nada. boo to that. We wanted to see some ghosts. We wanted to see something creepy.

If you have read this far we really are true friends and I think we should be roommates!

When we transgress its SO easy to be hard on ourselves. To forget the plan and purpose. To think that we can't go on. I loved reading the above scripture today because it reminded me that I will NEVER be perfect and I will make mistakes but it makes me a better person and I CAN OVERCOME them.

I hope you can all remember that too! You are fantastic and I enjoy learning from each and everyone of you!! :)

Is this the birth of a suns fan?

Okay, so I kinda enjoy going to the Sun's games... and now when I am at home watching the game I kinda care if they win or not. I kinda like to focus on where the ball is and where its going and if they made a good play... Where is Mern, and what have you done to her?

ITS A GOOD THING THOUGH! :)

My friend Kali Gardner got tickets to the game and invited me to go. WHAT FUN WE HAD! The Suns even won!

We got a free gift for coming to the game.... Face cards with the suns dancers on them? UMMMM no thanks!

Mern and Kali! We have worked together TWICE, Lived together, and partied together. She is fun!

Peace yo.

I had SUPER bad cold sores from my ski trip up at Sunrise. My lifes were swollen with sores on top and bottom of my lips. Look how good it looks! Just one little spot remains and it won't plague me for much longer!

Now let me just tell you ABREVA is an awful product! I started putting it on right after I got the "tingle." If you get cold sores you know what I mean. Well after I put abreva on it started moving to the top of my lip, then to more of the bottom. it seemed like the virus just needed to get out and the medicine was stopping it from doing so. It was going to get out any way that it could. So DON'T use abreva! It's not as great as they say...

Presidents Day weekend

I have issues! When my nieces and nephews are around I forget to take pictures of anything else! Like their parents, or the BEAUTIFUL beach, or my sister, or Roommate Tori!!

Lindsey, roommate Tori and I went to San Diego for the long weekend. It was a BLAST. We dropped Tori off to visit her family and we traveled up to Carlsbad. I am amazed at how green and beautiful it is! Its like an entire different country! So many hills and windy roads. I loved it.

Buddy and Sara have the cutest house in a nice out of the way neighborhood. Its only a 5 minute drive down to the beach!

Saturday morning we were able to get up early and go down to the beach and go running. Later in the day we headed back to the beach. It was a little chilly but that didn't stop us from playing around a bit.

We ate at Mr. Peabodies. It was YUM! Great burgers. The kids were so creative there....

Valentines Day.

Well today Lindsey and I are headed off to San Diego to visit The Buddy Haws family! Its a long weekend because of Presidents day and we all know I am not one to stay in town!! THIS PARTY IS GOING TO THE BEACH. :) Now it will be too cold to swim but there is something about putting your toes in the sand and listening to John Mayer. It makes time stop for me and I am able to dream clearly about what I want.
I also LOVE Valentines day and it is this Sunday. I love that I don't have to stress about buying anyone the PERFECT gift. OR stress about what point a relationship is at and if I should buy him a gift or just let the day pass. I can take a bubble bath and think about the person I want to be in a relationship. I can just enjoy the dating. People who hate Valentines Day are really missing out on a great opportunity.

SKI TRIP

Well it was time. I can't live in fear forever right?

We planned a ski trip to Sunrise.

Invitations were sent out and we had 10 confirmed guests!

We rented out grandmas house for the night.

Jakeb planned a phenomenal breakfast.

The trip was EPIC and will happen again soon.

We stopped in Show Low to get some groceries and we found snow piled higher than the cars!!

Us girls, plus Phatty Matty Phelps, hadn't skiied in a LONG time. Matt was a first ever.
The lift was SOOOO SLLLOOOOWWWW. 15 minutes up and 5 minutes down. we clearly spent most of the time on the lift.

Tori loved the fences, she just couldn't stay away from them! lol

I look like a boy! Thats probably because i borrowed all my clothes from a boy!

Elicia and Tanner got a sitter for the kids and came with us! I was so glad because we had a lot of fun!

Dallin met us up there!! He was a great teacher! We ditched our lesson and just hit the slopes. lol. We were self taught. NOONE DIED.

This was our meeting point at the bottom. If you got there first you waited and we all went up. The boarders were all pro!

After hitting the slopes the crew went to Booga Reds. I had to show them the goodness of it all. They LOVED it. Jakeb even went as far as to say Boogas was worth the 3 hour drive!

I love being outside, we all know this. The snow isn't that bad. Okay I said it, IT'S NOT THAT BAD. I loved being surrounded by all the people. The energy was so fun. There were little kids out there working their stuff on the slopes. Cute little 5 year olds on their little tiny pink boards. Kids who board are awesome. It probably teaches them so much coordination. The way the snow muffled the sound was very cool. the sparkle of the snow. The addrenaline of getting off the ski lift. The rush to get ONE last run in before the park closed.

We didn't even stop for lunch. to pee. to rest. nothing. It was up and down the entire day. SIGH. I hope it works out to take another trip before the year is out.

BIKE CLUB

After spending a nice chunk of change fixing up the bike that was donated to me I decided to put it to good use. NOTE the cool orange bike that is completely awesome is not mine. :(

I started a bike club! The weather this time of year is perfect and I can't stand to be inside all the time. So our club is WHEELIN ON WEDNESDAY. Every Wed we will meet at my place and cruise the streets of Mesa. Last night we had 5 people show up and I think it can only go up from there! Think how cool it will be cruising around with 15 bikes! It's not only bikes that are invited. Anything with wheels, rollerblades, longboards, scooters!

I guess I missed my 200th post! Somewhere in trying to juggle work, health, buying a house, moving in a new roommate, planning a skiing trip up north, camping, and JUST HAVING A FABULOUS TIME.

Happy 200 to me! I can't wait to be 10 years older and look through this blog and see what little mern was up too.

I looked up my Astrology because we were talking about it at lunch. Everything I read makes Gemini sound like a TERRIBLE person. Sheesh. It wasn't that exciting. I may be funny and entertaining but everything else points to flighty and backstabbing. Not what I wanted to to read!
