My weekend

What a fun weekend! We went to Mexico!! IT WAS COMPLETELY SAFE. Now I don't know about all the other border towns, but Rocky Point was fine. Everyone who went with us came back alive! Who would have thought. I know everyone has heard all the scares on the news about the danger going on down there with the drug wars. My theory is that the news is blowing everything out of proportion because the economy is junky here so they wanted everyone to stay in the states and spend there money here. The crappy part is that IT WORKED! :( The beaches and clubs were a little empty but hey, we had the dance floor all to ourselves! We were okay with that. So if you are thinking of going down there but CHICKEN out because of what you hear from others take it from a chickadee who was there. It's fine.

Everyone Chilling at the Beach.

Dinner at grandmas house. YUMMMM

We love going to church there! We don't understand more than 5 words, but love it.
The only mishap was that we ran out of gas. Good thing it was on the US side.
BRILLIANT!!! BA HAAA HAAA

Why Mormon Girls Stay Single

I think props are due here. I have spent the entire day reading up on a blog. The day has been filled with smirks, laughs that come from way down in the belly, maybe even a few tears when things hit too close to home. All in all the blog is fantastic!! Now it seems, reading from the comments that are made, that some don't think it to be as funny as I do. To those people I would say Lighten up! Laughter helps the soul so take it when you can get it. The other day I saw a young women on a bike get hit by a car. Did I laugh? YOU BET! I could tell she wasn't hurt, she didn't even fall over. It was just the thing I needed to see at the end of the work day. I am sure even she is laughing about it right now with her friends at ASU. Check out the blog if you have a little time to ROFL!!!

GIVE YOUR DREAM

What have you always wanted to do with your life? Today you can actually begin to make it happen. What is your most treasured dream? Now is the moment for bringing it to life.
But isn't it selfish to follow your dream, when there are so many problems, so many responsibilities to be met? No, it is not selfish at all. In fact, the selfish thing to do is to hide your dream away and deny it life. In the process of following your dream, you cannot help but add enormous value to the lives of others.
The things you deeply care about are there for a reason. They push you toward a level of achievement that will benefit not only you, but all those around you.
Somewhere deep within you is a dream, a vision for how life can be. Let this day be when you begin to give it to the world.

Ready to run.

I am ready for a trip, vacation, get-a-way, etc. You know that feeling you get when you have been riding shot gun all night and you have just woken up. Its dark outside and you look to the driver and say "where are we?" I lOVE that feeling. I love dancing in the car and singing off pitch at the top of my lungs. I love getting out of the car at our destination and stretching my legs so deep it almost hurts. I love taking random pictures to remember the trip for years to come. I love getting to visit family and friends who live far away. Its all an experience. Now the only question is, Where should I go?

Health and Fitness

I love my yoga ball. We spend 10 hours a day together Monday thru Thursday!! I bought a yoga ball to keep at work and decided that it fits in with my adultitis cure! What little kid wouldn't want to bounce on a ball all day long?! :) It helps my back and shoulders. I have noticed they aren't as tight at the end of the day. Yippee! That's one thing I don't like about my job is that I sit all day. My lazy self used to love it but now I am chomping at the bit by the end of the day. Its such a great release to hit the warm weather outside and know that the night is mine!! :) I have also noticed my core getting stronger because I have to force myself to sit straight all day and hold my stomach muscles in. A few times during the day I will do some crunches on the ball as well. SOOOOO I would encourage all of you to go out and get yourself a YOGA ball for work or for when you are watching TV.

ALSO...I wanted to share a great website with everyone. Its http://sparkpeople.com It is so great! Its a healthy living website. You can track what you eat through out the day and also your exercise for the day/week/month. There are groups to join and blogs to read! You can find different exercises and recipes as well. Create an account and have a good time! :)

Food storage

Maybe I am freaking out a little too much about this but it REALLY got me frustrated. We were having a team huddle with about 8 of my coworkers. Only myself and another boy are LDS. He started talking about his night last night and how his wife had some people come over and do a presentation for him. It was the presentation about The Home Store. I don't know if any of you have seen it but its really cool. Its freeze dried food that stores for 20 years and you only have to add water. The meals are delicious and still have all their nutritional value. So he was telling everyone how cool it was and then started saying his church advises to have a year storage incase anything happens. I couldn't believe the results we got from the other members of our team. "That's disgusting to store food for 25 years" "Why would you eat something like that" "There is no reason to store food" " I would rather eat tree bark" I just thought "ARE YOU PEOPLE KIDDING ME RIGHT NOW? Why wouldn't you want to be prepared incase you lose your job, or incase truckers go on strike. We are SO blessed to be thought this concept so we realize the importance of it. Even if we don't store as much as we should at least we are trying and have SOMETHING. I think a hard challenge for me will be if something does happen and these people come knocking on my door asking me for something to eat. Knowing that we have warned them that this may happen, and they did nothing, and having to share with them. I can't worry about that right now I guess. I will just need to work on my storage.

Isn't this so true! haha

'Twas the month after Christmas,
and all through the house,
Nothing would fit me,
not even a blouse.
The cookies I'd nibbled,
the chocolate I'd taste
At the holiday parties
had gone to my waist.
When I got on the scales
there arose such a number!
When I walked to the store
(less a walk than a lumber),
I'd remember the marvellous meals I'd prepared;
The gravies and sauces and beef nicely rared,
The wine and the rum balls, the bread and the cheese
And the way I'd never said, "No thank you, please."
As I dressed myself in my husband's old shirt
And prepared once again to do battle with dirt...
I said to myself, as I only can,
"You can't spend a winter, disguised as a man!"
So, away with the last of the sour cream dip.
Get rid of the fruit cake, every cracker and chip.
Every last bit of food that I like must be banished
Till all the additional ounces have vanished.
I won't have a cookie, not even a lick.
I'll want only to chew on a long celery stick.
I won't have hot biscuits, or corn bread, or pie.
I'll munch on a carrot and quietly cry.
I'm hungry, I'm lonesome, and life is a bore...
But isn't that what January is for?
Unable to giggle, no longer a riot.
Happy New Year to all, and to all a good diet.

Christmas 2008

Reflections of '08

Well Its a New Year! What a fun time. Everyone talking about their failed resolutions from last year, followed by their new resolutions for this year. I hope this isn't the case for you. :) I Think people just try to take on too much all at once. Change needs to be gradual. We don't just wake up every January first as a different person. Lets all take that into consideration while we are setting our goals for this year.

Goals from last year were to Lose weight and have a relationship. Both were completed. HOORAY. Maybe I should include a before and after shot...

BEFORE

AFTER

Funny right? I just don't have a picture from January last year on my computer here at work. I did lose 30 lbs last year though. How about another 20 this year? Maybe in the first 6 months even? We will see how it goes, but thats the goal.

Highlights of last year....

Some friends and I went to Sedona to Hike up to the Devils Bridge. It was Beautiful!

My Dear friend Elicia was baptised!!! She has come a long way and made great changes in her life! I am so proud of her! I have spent lots of time with her and her 2 girls. I love them all so much!

I learned how to make Krum Kake with Pops! It was so yummy! I hope to buy my own Krum Kame maker soon

I have tried to be goofy and not so serious all the time... This is a part of the '09 goal that I will explain later.

Well I am pressed for time so this is all for now. Updating pictures takes a bit....

I love you all!! :)

Christmas!!

Phew. All the packing is done and I am ready to head up to Eagar for Christmas. Its so hard to pack for cold weather! I want to take all my fun scarfs that I never get to wear and there are so many shoes to pack. Huge sweaters and fluffy pajamas. Gifts and cookies. Movies and Books. Its all loaded into the car and ready to take off. I have to work today but hope to get off early so that I don't have to travel late in the bad weather. Tonight is the family Christmas party. I would hate to miss it! Its so fun to get together with all the cousins and go for our hay ride and progressive dinner. Stopping at houses along the way to carol. Its always great when we arrive at the next house for the next part of dinner to run inside and warm up a bit. This activity really puts me in the Christmas mood because the best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear. I love our family traditions and am so glad that everyone takes the time to plan them and keep them going. Its a special part of Christmas. Just like we keep these traditions going I am so grateful my parents have kept the tradition of Christ in our home. He was always present in our house and I have my parents to thank for that.

I wish you all a Very Merry Christmas!!

Its been too long.

Well Well Well.

Life sure has been exciting lately. I have been on a rollercoaster and feel like I learn something new about life each day. Some of them I wish I didn't have to learn but hey, its all something new to put in this book of life. Maybe I will pull it out later and find it beneficial.

I had the opportunity of taking the missionary discussions with my good friend Elicia and her 2 little girls. It was such a great experience to watch her grow and make changes in her life. This is such a great thing for her and her 2 little girls. She is amazing and loves to learn new concepts of the gospel. It has been a great blessing for me to go through this with her. It has helped strengthen my testimony. Its also always good to learn the basics over again. I realize I have taken for granted how much I know about the plan of life and different aspects of the Gospel. The missionaries that we met with are just amazing! They are so sweet. Elder smith from California and Elder White from Jamaica.

Time to get started back into school! YEAH! I am excited to get started, only because I know it brings me closer to graduation. I really need to get it completed right now in my life before things get too crazy. I have changed my major to Human Services. I will take ground classes through the University of Phoenix. Its only one night a week and each class lasts for 5 weeks. I can last anything for 5 weeks right?! :) I recently finished my Associates in general studies so its only another 2 years to get things completed. Wish me luck!!!

This past weekend I had THE BEST time. My bestest friend in the whole wide world came to stay with me. Keara Greer. She left the husband behind and came down to the Valley to get a little Christmas shopping done. We shopped and shopped and shopped. It was fun to hang out and act silly like we used to.It made me forget about everything and just enjoy the moment. That doesn't happen much anymore so it was a nice switch-a-roo from the mundane. We had some good times in high school and I am glad we have been able to stay in contact through the years.

Sedona Trip

SEDONA!! I love Sedona Arizona. It is so beautiful there. There is always so much to do. I went there this weekend with a few friends. There is a Christmas diplay that we wanted to check out. We decided to go early in the day so that we could fit in a hike and sight seeing. I love all the red rock! I would love to attach pictures but I don't get a new camera till next week! I have been missing it plenty this past 6 months! :*( The hike we did was great! It was about a mile and our destination was Devils Bridge! It was neat, but if you have seen Wilsons Arch you have seen this, just on a smaller scale with trees around. It was fun to hike up there and then take a nap on top and ponder. It was really quit....for about 10 minutes till a helicopter would fly by filled with those who were not as adventurous and would rather look at gods beauty through glass. On the hike up I did something I have never done before, eaten the fruit of a cactus!? WOW. All you have to do is pull the red thing out of the cactus, get all the little needles off and then take a bit. It is filled with seeds, but the outside tastes like a pear! It was delicious. Also for dinner we had snake and cactus fries! What an experience. But it was yummy! I didn't care for the snake so much but it was okay. The cactus fries were my favorite. They were really sweet! Try them if you ever get the chance.

Spiritual Leaders

I am so thankful for conference! I have never enjoyed it so much. I don't know if this is due to my current age, or if its just the first time that I have watched it with questions in my heart that needed some answers. It was wonderful to know that we have leaders in this day and age to help guide us and instruct us. I felt the whole thing was specifically for me, as I am sure you all felt it was just for you!! We all struggle with the same things! Sometimes it is easy to forget that we are all human and struggle everyday. Noone is a powerhouse at everything. I anxiously await next months ensign when the talks are printed for me to go over again.

Utah

We had a great time in Utah! I am so sad that my camera is broken because there were many photo opportunities! Oh well. We drove up all night and got to dories house after she was already gone to work so we crashed and took a nap. Friday night Lindsey Vita and I went out to dinner with Michael Wiltbank. It is always so good to see him and enjoy his company! After Dinner we went to an outdoor concert in the street. It was really neat and reminded me of first friday here in Phoenix. I haven't been in a long time so it was a good reminder that I need to go. Luckily it is tomorrow night! YEAH!
Saturday was a busy day. There was a baby shower for Greta and Marjann at Aunt Dories. We didn't play games but there were two quilts on that needed to be tied so we worked on those. It was a house full! Towards the end the men showed back up and we played some card games. That night all the girls got back together and went to the RS broadcast. It was Dorie, Sug, DeAnn, Marjann, Greta, Lindsey, Vita and I. Many great things were said and we all enjoyed it. Then Vita and I went out to visit our friend Rex from EAC. It was great to see him! We heart him. For those of you who know him he is doing well!
Sunday was not a fun day with Vita and I both being sick. But we crawled out of bed to play games with the Bakers and have a little dinner. I can't express how neat it was to see everyone! We just had a ball. Aunt Dorie is so nice to always open her home to us! We appreciate it!
So now its back in AZ again. The nights are starting to cool off which makes things enjoyable again. Its so much nicer to run with the cool weather! I love it!
I am looking forward to conference and can't wait to get great guidance! Boy do I need it now more than ever! Life has some interesting bends and turns doesn't it! I heard a great quote the other day

Being Happy Doesn't mean everthing is perfect. It means you've decided to see beyond the imperfections!

Lindsey and I have plans to head back to Mexico next weekend with a friend from work! I am so excited. It has been mentioned that maybe I should just move there! haha. With the economy here I just might do that! But I do love it down there and can't wait till I can drag mom and dad there with me! They would love it!

Things going through my mind.

Life is busy busy busy as is all of yours I am sure. Someone tried to break into my car a few weeks ago so I have been trying to get everything straight with that. I am lucky that they didn't get in but they did plenty of damage to the outside. It makes me so sad that I am punished for someone else not being honest. All I can hope is that it catches up with them... bwah ha ha.

I am so excited for Tyson and Kim and the purchase of their new home! Kim is going to make it a beautiful home! She has so many great ideas when it comes to decorating and crafting. Congrats you guys!

Tomorrow I am headed off to Mexico. My home away from home at times! I love how carefree it is down there. They work to survive, not work to buy so many things that they don't need. I would love that, well after I got used to not having all my things. lol

Next weekend Lindsey, Vita, and I are headed up to Utah! We are so excited to see everyone. Aunts, Cousins, Babies, Friends! We miss you all. We don't know our final plans as of yet. Still trying to get it worked out with what day to leave but we will be there by friday early, early am for sure. :) I can't believe that it has already been over a year since I moved back to AZ! Living in Utah was a great experience for me! Aunt Dorie was such a huge help to me and I am so glad that I got the chance to get to know her! I LOVE YOU!!

FINALLY!

Well I am finally done with my Associates degree! YAHOO! It took me long enough. I took 2 years at Eastern Arizona College and wanted to graduate the same year as Tyson. So I walked with that year being 1 class short. I had the intention of going to MCC the next semester to get it finished but it turned into 3 years! EEK! But I finished my last class last week through the University of Phoenix and now I am done! So my next adventure will be my Bachelors degree. I don't know what I want to do yet. Maybe education, maybe nutrition. Hopefully I can make a decision soon! Any suggestions? :)

Also I haven't posted any pictures because my camera got dropped in the river at MEP. :*( So I am waiting for BLACK FRIDAY to purchase a new one....

stressed life is good life

Well Things just keep going and going. Last weekend we spent a fun time at the lake with some Family. Buddy and Sara and Trisha and Brynn took their boats out to Apache lake. Buddy had some of his friends from high school come too. Lindsey and I drove up friday night and met them to camp for the night and spend the next day playing. I think everyone had a good time. There were some stressful times but for the most part it was enjoyable. Lindsey and I didn't want to set up a tent for one night so we decided to sleep in the car. Well she ended up sleeping in the back of Trisha's boat! I think she was the only one that got a good nights sleep because it was so hot in the tents and in the car!

The house hunt continues. I have now been qualified to get something on my own but I didn't get qualified for very much. So its either wait till I save some, or buy something far out. I just can't decide. All my married friends say, BUY A HOUSE! ITS THE BEST INVESTMENT FOR YOUR FUTURE FAMILY. But all my single friends say DON'T DO IT! YOU WILL FEEL TRAPPED. So I don't really know what to do. But for now I will continue to look and see what is available.

This weekend Lindsey and I plan on traveling down to Thatcher to visit little brother Preston at school. He moves down there today so we thought it would be fun to go and help him get things together and take him to walmart and help purchase last minute things for his room. While we are there it will be fun to visit friends that live there, Heather that means YOU! :) YEAH!! I can't wait to see baby Titan again.

Well I love you all and thanks for your support!
