Just thinking.

"Those who don't know history are destined to repeat it."

~Ronald Reagan
So hear is my question, I want to live a life like my grandparents did. Does this mean I shouldn't learn about their life to ensure that I repeat it? After all, Its history. Just a thought.
This week has FLOWN by. It has been a nice week though and what a better way to end it than with a RAINSTORM. It was fantastic. Lindsey and I went out to Tyson & Kim's house last night to play games with them and the Baker Bunch. It was fun to see Spencer and Greta's little Haven. She is so precious, and Phoenix gets more adorable everyday. She is such a quite and content baby. I am sure she has her moments though.
I was really surprised to see Kim's Belly! We saw her last weekend and I didn't notice a thing. Then last night it was there!! She is so cute!
I kept asking Annie about the baby. She insists that its a girl. She was sitting on my lap and kept asking me to tell her stories about when she was a little baby in her mommies tummy. Later on in the night we were watching Tarzan and she decided to become Jane, and labeled Jensen as Tarzan and I got to be Terk. It was fun. Lindsey pointed out that Jensen has become a toddler over night! He is a lot more playful now.
I am getting VERY excited for Egypt. It still doesn't seem real that we are going. I don't think it will hit in till the plane takes off from New York. I can't wait to take a MILLION pictures. I am excited to touch and feel all the fabric and the trinkets. To taste all the new spices. To feel the hot Egyptian sun! To splash in the red sea, and try to part it.
Have a great weekend all of you! Loves, from Mern.

We love you Jami!!

For those who don't already know, Kameron Haban lost his battle with Lupus yesterday morning. He has touched the lives of so many with his huge smile and genuine kindness, and will be missed by so many! Jami has also touched many with her amazing courage and faith throughout their ordeal. Whether you know them or not, please keep Jami and 2 1/2 year old son Kason in your prayers.
This sweet family is in need of emotional, spiritual and physical support. Kameron spent more than the last month of his life in the ICU. We are all blessed with an opportunity to help. Yesterday a bank account was opened for them. Anyone can go to any Bank of America and make a donation to the account under JamiLynn Haban for the benefit of Kameron Haban. You can also make an online donation at paypal.com by sending it to habanfundraiser@gmail.com
Jami did an amazing job of updating everyone on her blog kamandjami.blogspot.com if you would like to read more about their experience.
Please help us lend support to the Haban family during this time! Feel free to help spread the word of how to make a donation to those who you know will want to help.

I have finally found the one.

I have a new celebrity boyfriend. I was sad to break up with my last celebrity boyfriend but I feel it was time. He was just getting too old. So like a Chump I ditched him. But new celebrity boyfriend is just amazing. I have seen him hundreds of times but he has never struck my fancy, until watching him last night in The Fifth Element. Oh my heck, Bruce Willis is PHENOMENAL. I am in love. Its that kind of love that catches your breath because someone has that special Charisma about them. I think it is caught in this picture...

Its just the way he isn't smiling, yet there is TOTALLY a smile there.

Sigh.

I am digging the hat

I am a suckor for the shaved head and dicey business.
So there you have it. Know you know. ALERT THE MEDIA. Wedding annoucements to follow.

Happy Tuesday

Day 1 with no sugar went splendid! It was harder than I thought. I had gotten into the habit of having a Mt Dew with dinner. I don't know why I buy soda because I don't LUV it but when I have it I drink it. * Note to self, Don't buy soda. WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY...

Day 2 with no sugar is going good. yippee. I rock this.

Today is going to be quite busy. I don't know why I agree to so many things when all I want to do is do my own thing at get to sleep at a decent hour!! Any one else out there with this problem? I bet so. Over half of the Haws clan should be raising their hands right now! I figured out why this is as I have been ready Grandma Haws' history book this week. Grandma and Grandpa were a well oiled machine that did WAY more than anyone could have asked for them. Now I just wish I could direct all my energy into positive things like they did! My tasks are more like go to the gym, make it to Chris' birthday party, have Jakeb and Jeremy over to watch a movie. It should be a fun night I guess but for the record, I would rather be doing other things.

NO sugar????

Okay. I am going to go 1 week without sugar. A friend of mine casually said that I should try it. I thought to myself

Self, this will be so easy. You don't even eat sugar that often.

So I will give it a try. Its 10:18 in my day. time for a snack while I wait for my QC before I can go to lunch. I open my snack drawer and what do I find? None other than my favorite snack... ZOOM out a bit and this is what you get.

I LUV LUV LUV Juicy twist licorice. There is nothing better than going to a drive in movie, alone, with this bad boy as your date. Rats! I bought it on Friday and now I cannot partake. What do I do? Pass it over to the "friend" that suggested I not eat sugar. Is this a consiracy? Did he know I had that in my drawer and that I would have to hand it over? maybe.

After this I start thinking about my cupboards at home and what might be in there that I don't remember. Then it hits me. A COSTCO size box of airheads. A bag of saltwater taffy from Idaho. Mt Dew. Now, the fact that all these are in there is proof that I don't eat a lot of candy, I am a collector I guess. However they are in my cupboard and I partake at least a few times a week. So I will be giving it up a bit. I bet now that I tell myself I don't want this sugar those Taffy's are going to grow huge bulky arms and legs and walk up the stairs to my bedroom, like little monsters, and try to beat there way into my mouth. Thats how it always happens right? Someone tells you not to do something so you can't rest peacefully again until you do it. We shall see what happens.

Would anyone like to join me?

DBacks Vs La Dodgers

This weekend some of the family got together to go to the game. I don't LOVE games but I go with the flow. Its fun to just get out and do things. While I was at the game I ran into one of my old co-works, Vali, so that was fun to see her. We worked together at the cabinet place.

The Dodgers pitcher got DRILLED in the face with the ball. If I wasn't laughing so hard I would have felt sorry for him. Please don't feel bad, he is out of the hospital and OKAY.

Here are the family members that went. Mom, Dad, Sara, Buddy, Lindsey.
Below: Dallin and myself.

I think this was a game to see who could get the biggest smile. Lets take votes on who won, shall we? lol.
Okay so in a previous posts, you can read it HERE, #48 I talk about an issue I have with people taking pictures of themselves. Everything about this annoyes me. For a few different reasons.
1. Why do I want a picture of you on my camera? Is this an invitation for me to kiss you?
2. Why do I want MULTIPLE pictures of you like this on my camera? We all know you are not a first time offender.
3. Why don't you ask someone to take a picture of you?
So after the game you want to know what I found on my camera?
THIS

THIS

& THIS
SO THIS IS WHAT I WANTED TO DO TO THEM!!!
I WILL PUMP YOU FULL OF LEAD.

Come on peeps.... No more self pictures!!! If you are taking a picture of yourself for a specific reason, say to send to a friend, take it, BUT DELETE IT WHEN YOU ARE DONE.

Thank ya sir.

Dear Little, Sweet, Baby Jesus.

Even though I HATE, no make that LOATH, waking up before 5 am to get to work by 6 it MIGHT be worth it to see the sunrise that I get to see every morning. I am surprised that I don't wreck on my way each day. I should be a contortionist the way I am cranking my neck behind me to check out the view. Arizona makes a sunrise like none else. THANK YOU.

Here is your sign....

I was curious to know a little about myself today and thought the best place to look, other than way deep down inside, is my sign. I thought what I learned was pretty interesting and pretty dead on... Any other Gemini's out there? ~HOLLA~
I thought it was really interesting when it talks about the "twins" and never knowing who is going to show up! That makes so much sense! I just thought it was mood swings. I find that my energetic self shows up more at night while during the day I am more reflective and chill.
GeminiMay 21 - June 21

Gemini is the third Sign of the Zodiac, and those born under this Sign will be quick to tell you all about it. That's because they love to talk! It's not just idle chatter with these folks, either. The driving force behind a Gemini's conversation is their mind. The Gemini-born are intellectually inclined, forever probing people and places in search of information. The more information a Gemini collects, the better. Sharing that information later on with those they love is also a lot of fun, for Geminis are supremely interested in developing their relationships. Dalliances with these folks are always enjoyable, since Geminis are bright, quick-witted and the proverbial life of the party. Even though their intellectual minds can rationalize forever and a day, Geminis also have a surplus of imagination waiting to be tapped. Can a Gemini be boring? Never! (Thats right, she thinks smugly to herself. YOU BETTA RECOGNIZE.)
Since Geminis are a mix of the yin and the yang, they are represented perfectly by the Twins. The Gemini-born can easily see both sides of an issue, a wonderfully practical quality. Less practical is the fact that you're not sure which Twin will show up half the time. Geminis may not know who's showing up either, which can prompt others to consider them fickle and restless.
They can be wishy-washy, too, changing their mood on a simple whim. It's this characteristic which readily suggests the Mutable Quality assigned to this Sign. Mutable folks are flexible and go with the flow. Further, the Twins are adaptable and dexterous and can tackle many things at once. It's a good thing, too, when you consider their myriad interests. The downside of such a curious mind, however, can be a lack of follow-through. How much can any one person do, anyway?
So thats me in a nut shell. So from all of your outside opinions, would you say this describes me?? I would love to hear your opinion.

Today is the DAY!

Preston went into the MTC today. I am so proud of him! He has always been an example to me! He was the cutest little kid and always so sensitive and kind. He still is! He has so many friends and people that respect him. I know he is going to be a great missionary and love people into the gospel. I can't wait to see his growth in his letters, and send him packages, and hear his voice at Christmas. Luckily that isn't too far away!!
I love you brother!!

Thats just the way it is.

I have started this new obsession of cross-word puzzles in an attempt to expand my vocabulary. For the record it is NOT, I repeat not working. It has words such as linen, wishes, yells, sensible, and snaffle. Snaffle? there is one I don't know, lets look it up...

Noun
1.
snaffle - a simple jointed bit for a horse; without a curb

Thats the extent of it. Just for fun I looked up implore to ensure that I am using it correctly.

While completing one puzzle I was stumped for a good 5 minutes on 1 word and I was getting rather upset. I stopped, took a step back from the situation and pondered. The word was ROMANCE. Go figure that I couldn't find it.

love.

Group Birthday cards..

At work I am on a team of 11 people. For the most part we are all friends so we celebrate each persons birthday with a card and a cake. Nothing fancy. WELL, each time that card gets past around I can't help but read what everyone else before me wrote. It's a sad, sick addiction.

If I am lucky I am the last person to sign it and I get to ready all of them, and noone gets to read mine. This is my favorite thing. I am pretty sure that everyone else sneaks a peek at the other messages before they write theirs.

ALSO being last ensures that I can be the funniest. Noone else can read what I wrote and top it. This delights me.
So happy birthday DEB! I now know that Joseph considers it a pleasure to work with you, and Ben just agrees with Joseph, and kyle doesn't know you that well yet, and Mandy thinks your great, Frosty is happy for you. No one knows that you rock my socks when I don't even wear any.

Hate crimes?

Rembered when I vandalized my friends cube with tin foil? YEEEEAH well he paid me back today while I was at lunch. What a great cube friend....
lotion on the desk. candy wrappers. All is a mess! He wrecked it all.
Stuff on the floor!. PS. look at how nasty that floor is! Gross.

emptied out the contents of my drawers. Even took my silver balls out of their case.

He even dumped out all my makeup. punk.

ALL ABOARD

Bandwagon oh how I have missed thee!! What you don't understand is that you hit a bump a few miles back and I wasn't prepared or holding on, so I fell off! Its been a rough walk to get back to a point where I could jump on but I MADE IT!! I have missed the great way you make me feel!! Let me show you what I have been doing to help get back on.

This is what I like to eat for breakfast. Doesn't it look like a picture for a advertisement? Its just amazing.I am always confused as I eat it because it actually tastes good, so it can't be good for me, RIGHT? wrong. It's called Wheatabix. You can buy it at sprouts in the cereal isle. Buy the cubes, not the flakes. *NOTE, Sorry Natalie, you can't have this. :(

To put it all together you:

1. take 2 of the cubes and put them in your bowl. Drizzle Honey over the top, don't get carried away with the goodness of the honey!

2. Add a little of each of the following on top. almonds. sunflower seeds.dried cranberries. fresh berries like blackberries, strawberries, blueberries. peaunuts, ets. GET CREATIVE!! You can also put your favorite fiber powder to get that extra kick in your day. ;)

3. Then put milk over it. I like to use a soy milk, its better for you and you can't taste the difference. More milk is better because the wheat sucks it up really fast!

AND THAT MY FRIEND IS THE BREAKFAST OF CHAMPIONS.

Let me know what you think when you make it! :)

WEEKEND

What a great weekend that I had!! It was a blast though. It was nice to finally stay here in the valley and be with friends for the weekend. I planned a quick trip for friday night to head up to Payson and do a little dutch oven cooking. I was REALLY excited because my friend Charles was going to be able to come and we had talked about doing this activity together but due to unfortunate circumstances he wasn't able to make it. Bummer dude because he TOTALLY missed out. The weather was perfect and we had a good crowd turn out. It was nice to get out of the heat. We couldn't find the exact place that we wanted to go to we just found a spot to pull off to the side of the road. We were there about 20 minutes when a sherriff shows up. We started worrying, are we allowed to be here, are we allowed to have fires, we are so busted, yada yada yada. Well he walks up to us and awkwardly looks at our fire and says, "we got a call that there was a HUGE fire off to the side of the road." I look at the fire and in my head think, dude. I could pee on this fire right now and it would extinguish it...and I haven't had a drink in 2 days. All of a sudden words came out of my mouth that I just couldn't stop because the situation was so funny. I say, "well was it a mouse that called you? Because that fire would be big to a mouse." I sweetly smile at him while my friends gawk in disbelief. Luckily the officer has a sense of humor because he only looks at me and says that no it wasn't a mouse. He askes how long we are staying, I invite him to have a hot dog, he says no and away he goes. Coolio.

I brought my couch! This is how many people you can fit on it.

My cobbler. For how good it was, I still couldn't finish it.

See those 2 boys in the back? The ones that look like the 2 guys from without a paddle that live in the middle of nowhere and harvest the marajuana crops... Yeah those are the guys. These are 2 boys that Jakeb went to high school with. He hasn't talked to them since high school but they saw on facebook that we were having cobbler and they asked if they could come along. I tried to put myself in their situation. Asking an old friend if you can come along. I would ONLY do that if I knew the person really well, or had the most outgoing personality so that I could make friends easily with those at the party. Well these boys didn't have one of those things going for them. They hung out in the back the entire time and didn't talk to anyone, and noone talked to them. At first I felt bad and tried to create some interaction with them but then realized it was no use. One of the boys picked up a rock and told me that was there defense against bears.
REALLY DUDE?
After we ate everyone was hanging around the fire chatting. I had my truck backed up to the fire so I put some tunes on. We all had a good time listening to NOW 5. It took us all back to the day and we were enjoying it. WELLLLLL I guess that these 2 boys weren't enjoying it. One of them got in their truck, backed it up to the fire, right next to mine, and put different music on LOUDER than mine. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Now I am one to appreciate the type of music they put on, I happen to like rock but the average LDS person does not. So everyone just looked around like ...what just happened? The dude gets out of his truck and hangs out on the tailgate. I had no choice to go turn my music off because it was overpowered by my name is earl.

Jeremy and I.

Everyone just chillin. Creepy dude still being creepy.

Jakeb is such a stud and cooked the cobbler for his first time. Charles was GOING to cook it but....

The ladies.

Joe and Jakeb.

Roasting the dogs. see how small the fire is! haha

I POKE YOU!!

This is the sunset we saw on our way there. I love Arizona!!

ROOMMATES!! First roadtrip ever with them. We missed sister...
Did a few other things this weekend... Bought a green notebook to carry with me and write my thoughts. Watched I LOVE YOU, BETH COOPER. It was a lame movie and I don't recommend it. Went to my new ward. Helped Julie pack.
